Pause or Resume a Marketplace Store
Need to step away for a few hours or close for the weekend? You can pause a marketplace connection in POS Hub so customers stop placing orders until you're ready again. This guide walks through the process.
When to Use Pause/Resume
- Short breaks (staff meeting, deep cleaning, equipment reset)
- Unexpected issues (internet outage, power cut, POS maintenance)
Pausing only affects the selected marketplace (e.g., Uber Eats, DoorDash). Other channels keep running unless you pause them too.
Before You Start
- Make sure the marketplace app is already connected to your location.
- Pause/resume actions are available to anyone who can manage the location.
Pause a Marketplace Store
- Open your location
From the POS Hub dashboard, choose the location you want to manage. - Go to Apps → Marketplace
Open the Apps tab, then select the marketplace connection you want to control. - Choose “Pause Store” (or similar)
Click the button or toggle that pauses ordering for that marketplace. - Optional: Set a reopen time
If you know when you'll be back, pick a date and time. POS Hub will resume the store automatically. - Optional: Add a reason and notes
Use the dropdown to explain why you’re pausing (helpful for team members and support). Notes are just for your internal records. - Confirm
Save/confirm the change. You’ll see a success message once the marketplace acknowledges the pause.
Resume a Marketplace Store
- Return to the same location → Apps → Marketplace.
- Select the paused connection—its status badge will say “Paused” or “Temporarily Closed”.
- Click Resume Store (or similar wording) to reopen immediately.
- Confirm the action; the badge switches back to “Open” once the marketplace accepts the update.
If you set an automatic reopen time earlier, you only need to intervene if plans change.
Automatic Resume Explained
When you pick a reopen time, POS Hub schedules it for you. At the scheduled moment the store switches back to open status without any extra clicks. If you need to stay closed longer, simply pause again or edit the reopen time before it triggers.
Troubleshooting
- Message says the pause failed – The marketplace may have rejected the change. Try again, or check if your marketplace credentials need attention.
- Need to reopen sooner – Resume manually at any time, even if a schedule exists.
- Accidentally resumed – Pause again; there’s no penalty for toggling multiple times.
That’s it—use pause/resume whenever you need a quick way to stop marketplace orders without disconnecting the app. Your menus, pricing, and settings stay intact the entire time.
